Wednesday MLB brings us to Tropicana Field where the Tampa Bay Rays host the Baltimore Orioles.

The Baltimore Orioles couldn’t hold a late lead in a 4-3 loss at Tropicana Field on Tuesday. Baltimore starter Alex Cobb allowed a run through seven innings and left with a 3-1 lead but Evan Phillips gave up two runs in the 8th before Miguel Castro served up a walk off homer in the 9th to get the loss.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Orioles logged seven hits and a walk with Tm Beckham and Trey Mancini launching solo homers while Beckham scored on a Mark Trumbo single.

Baltimore sends right hander David Hess to the mound to oppose Tampa Bay Wednesday. Hess comes in off of an 11-3 loss a Texas with seven runs scoring on five hits and a pair of BB over 3.1 frames.

The Tampa Bay Rays found some late scoring to upend the visiting Orioles Tuesday. Tampa Bay starter Tyler Glasnow gave up a run over four frames with Jaime Schultz allowing two runs in two innings.

The Rays attack consisted of six hits and five bases on balls with Willy Adames cracking a walk off homer n the 9th while Jake Bauers recorded an RBI followed by Mallex Smith with a pair of runs.

Tampa Bay has not named a starter so it’s likely a bullpen day on the mound.

Over is 8-1 in Baltimore last 9 overall and Baltimore are 4-17 in their last 21 games on astroturf and Baltimore are 16-56 in their last 72 road games. Under is 10-2 in Tampa Bay last 12 Wednesday games and Tampa Bay are 20-7 in their last 27 games on astroturf and Tampa Bay are 20-7 in their last 27 home games. Baltimore are 1-7 in the last 8 meetings in Tampa Bay.

The Orioles had a game they probably should have run and have a decent chance of winning Wednesday but for me it’s back the Rays with their reliever by committee or stay on the sideline…
