Taking the hill for the Brewers on Friday will be Freddy Peralta. In his 53.1 innings and 5-2 mark this season, Peralta has a 3.54 ERA with 71 Ks.
Tops in hitting for the Brewers this season is Christian Yelich with 128 hits, 79 runs, 18 homers and 60 RBI. Lorenzo Cain isn’t too far back with 111 hits, 58 runs and 30 RBI.
Over on the Braves’ side, they just finished up against the Nationals. After splitting the doubleheader on Tuesday, Atlanta split the other two games in the set for a 2-2 result.
Atlanta will be sending out RHP Kevin Gausman on Friday. In his 129.0 innings and 5-9 mark this season, Gausman has a 4.47 ERA with 106 Ks.
Leading the Braves lineup this season is Nick Markakis, with 142 hits, 64 runs, 14 homers and 70 RBI. Freddie Freeman is also having a good year on 139 hits, 68 runs, 18 homers and 70 RBI.
The Brewers are 4-1 in their last five during game one of a series and 7-2 in their last nine Friday games. the over is 4-0 in Milwaukee’s last four overall and 4-1 in the last five versus a team with a winning record.
Meanwhile, the Braves are 8-2 in their last 10 overall and 4-12 in their last 16 Friday games. Atlanta is also 5-11 in their last 16 versus a team with a winning record and the under is 4-1 in their last five home games.
In nine of his first 10 Major-League starts, Peralta has put up at least five strikeouts while allowing three or fewer hits in eight of those 10. As for Gausman, this will be his first start as a Brave, and he looked pretty good in his last start. This should be an interesting pitching matchup and I think it’s a good place for a Braves pick since the line isn’t too bad in either direction. You wouldn't be crazy for taking the Brewers here, though.
