Kauffman Stadium and the Kansas City Royals host the St. Louis Cardinals in interleague MLB action on Friday.
The St. Louis Cardinals are trying to make a run in the NL Central and have been doing just that with wins in seven of ten. St. Louis comes off a 7-1 win at Miami on Wednesday where starter John Gant gave up the lone run on two hits and a BB over six frames.

The Cardinals banged out nine hits and walked four times with Matt Carpenter going deep and scoring twice while Yadier Molina went 2-4 with a homer and three RBI’s followed by Paul DeJong with a two run double.
The Cardinals send rookie Austin Gomber to the mound for his second straight start. Gomber did not get a decision in an 8-4 win at Pittsburgh with all four runs scoring over four frames.
The Kansas City Royals have struggled to get their arms and bats on the same page in 2018 but reversed that trend Wednesday in a 9-0 rout of the Cubs that snapped a six game slide. Kansas City starter Heath Fillmyer improved to 1-1 with seven scoreless innings.
The Royals logged nine hits and four BB with Adalberto Mondesi clubbing a three run bomb while Brew Butera smacked a three run double followed by Jorge Bonifacio and Brett Phillips who drove in a run each and combined to score five times.
Kansas City opens their series versus St. Louis with Burch Smith on the mound. Smith has dropped back to back outings with eleven runs allowed on 12 hits and five BB over nine innings.
Under is 11-3-1 in St. Louis last 15 interleague games and over is 9-3 in St. Louis last 12 interleague road games and St. Louis are 2-6 in their last 8 Friday games. Under is 14-2 in Kansas City last 16 interleague games and Kansas City are 1-7 in their last 8 interleague home games and under is 6-1-1 in Kansas City last 8 home games. Under is 13-6-5 in the last 24 meetings.
Gomber is inexperienced as a starter at the major league level but this looks like a case where you back the surging Cardinals…
