The Pittsburgh Pirates and the San Francisco Giants meet in game two of their four game set in MLB action from AT&T Park on Friday.

The Pittsburgh Pirates will look to keep their momentum going after making it three wins in a row with a 10-5 win in game one on Thursday. David Freese led the Pirates with a home run and three RBIs, while Adam Frazier and Elias Diaz each had two RBIs, with Diaz hitting his 7th home run of the season. Josh Bell added a solo home run and Gregory Polanco added an RBI and a double while Colin Moran chipped in an RBI to round out the scoring for the Pirates in the win. Josh Harrison went 2 for 4 while Starling Marte chipped in a base knock to round out the Pirates offense in the victory. Ivan Nova got the win to climb to 7-6 this season after allowing two runs on three hits over six innings of work. Trevor Williams will start game two and is 9-8 with a 3.88 ERA and 80 strikeouts this season. In his career, Williams is 0-0 with a 2.25 ERA and 5 strikeouts against San Francisco.

San Francisco Giants vs. Pittsburgh Pirates - 8/10/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco Giants will be out to bounce back after losing game one on Thursday, pushing their losing skid to three and five of their last six games. Joe Panik and Steven Duggar each had a double and two RBIs, with Duggar going 2 for 4 at the dish. Alen Hanson added a triple and an RBI to round out the Giants’ scoring in the loss while Brandon Crawford and Austin Slater each added a base hit in the losing effort. Andrew Suarez took the loss after allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out four over five innings of work to fall to 4-8 this season. Derek Holland will start game two and is 5-8 with a 3.88 ERA and 120 strikeouts this season. In his career, Holland is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 7 strikeouts against Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh is 17-7 in their last 24 games overall and 7-3 in Williams’ last 10 starts against a team with a losing record while the over is 4-1-1 in their last 6 games against a left-handed starter. San Francisco is 1-7 in their last 8 home games and 8-3 in Holland’s last 11 starts while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games against the NL Central. Pittsburgh is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings between these two teams in San Francisco.

Holland has been pitching well lately, and the Giants have been better at home than on the road this season. However, being at home hasn’t helped the Giants during this recent slide, and Williams has allowed just two runs over his last four starts spanning 22 innings of work. We are getting the hotter team with a slight pitching advantage at plus money so that’s where I’ll go with this one as I see Pittsburgh making it two in a row on Friday.
