The Mets racked up 13 hits and a walk with Amed Rosario going 3-5 with two runs driven while Kevin Plawecki knocked in two more followed by Todd Frazier and Austin Jackson with each scoring twice.

The Mets send rookie Corey Oswalt  to the mound to face the Marlins for the second time. Oswalt did not get a decision last time out in a 5-4 loss to Atlanta with three runs scoring over six frames.

The Miami Marlins couldn’t get their arms and bats on the same page n the series opener versus the visiting Mets. Miami starter Jose Urena was charged with four runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings to absorb the loss while Javy Guerra gave up a pair of 8th inning runs.

The Marlins attack consisted of four and a single free pass with Miguel Rojas clubbing a solo homer in the 7th.

The Marlins hand Saturday’s starting assignment to Dan Straily. Straily did not receive a decision in a 5-3 loss at Philadelphia last time out where he allowed two runs on a hit and five BB through 5.1 innings.

NY Mets are 4-12 in their last 16 Saturday games and are 21-43 in their last 64 games on grass. Miami are 1-8 in their last 9 overall and are 1-8 in their last 9 games on grass and are 6-2 in their last 8 Saturday games. Under is 5-1-1 in the last 7 meetings and Miami are 4-1 in Straily’s last 5 starts vs. Mets.

Neither team has me running to the betting window and it’s questionable if this is worthy of a bet…
