The Twins send rookie Kohl Stewart to the mound to face the Tigers in is major league debut Sunday. Kohl has 111 minor league appearances under his belt and has gone 31-34 with a 3.36 ERA.

The Detroit Tigers will try to end their series against Minnesota with a win after struggling to get their bats going in Saturday’s narrow loss. Detroit starter Francisco Liriano gave up three runs in five frames with Zach McAllister allowing a 6th inning run.

The Tigers totaled nine hits and three walks with Niko Goodrum clubbing a two run homer in the 9th while James McCann had two hits and drove in a run.

The Tigers are sending Matthew Boyd to the hill to oppose Minnesota for the third time in 2018. Boyd dropped a 6-2 decision at the LA Angels last time out with four runs scoring over 5.1 frames.

Minnesota are 17-36 in their last 53 road games. Detroit  are 10-26 in their last 36 games on grass and are 12-31 in their last 43 overall and are 8-20 in their last 28 Sunday games. Under is 8-1 in the last 9 meetings and over is 8-3-1 in the last 12 meetings in Detroit.

Stewart has zero track record but has been okay at the minor league level and while I’m just watching this I’ll throw this out there…
