Tuesday MLB brings us to the Motor City where the Detroit Tigers host the Chicago White Sox.
The Chicago White Sox couldn’t contain the Detroit offense in a 9-5 defeat on Monday. Chicago starter Reynaldo Lopez gave up four runs over five framed before Jeanmar Gomez and Juan Minaya allowed a combined five runs in 2.1 innings.

The White Sox totaled eleven hits and walkd three times with Omar Narvaez going solo while Adam Engel went deep and scored twice followed by Daniel Palka had three hits and an RBI.
The White Sox have named Lucas Giolito as Tuesday’s starter at Detroit. Giolito struggled in a 7-3 loss to the Yankees last time out with seven runs plated on six hits and three BB in five innings.
The Detroit Tigers turned to their offense in outscoring the White Sox Monday. Detroit starter Artie Lewicki gave up three runs over 4.2 frames while Drew VerHagen and Alex Wilson surrendered solo jacks.
The Tigers pounded out 12 hits and walked four times with Nicholas Castellanos going 5-5 with a homer, five RBI’s and two runs while Jeinmar Candelario and Victor Reyes each drove in runs and combined to score twice followed by James McCann who logged three hits and three runs.
The Tigers give Tuesday’s starting assignment versus the White Sox to Blaine Hardy. Hardy absorbed a 6-0 defeat to the LA Angels last time out with five runs plated on seven hits and a BB in five frames.
Chicago are 7-24 in their last 31 Tuesday games and Chicago are 39-83 in their last 122 road games and under is 10-1-2 in Giolito’s last 13 road starts. Detroit are 7-20 in their last 27 Tuesday games and are 13-32 in their last 45 overall and are 11-27 in their last 38 games on grass. Both hurlers have shown the ability to throw well so I’ll back Hardy and the Tigers with Hardy looking less prone to blowups according to me anyway…
