The Colorado Rockies and the Houston Astros meet in the finale of their two game set from Minute Maid Park in MLB action on Wednesday.

The Colorado Rockies will look to complete the sweep and build on their current winning streak which sits at four games following a 5-1 win in game one on Tuesday. Nolan Arenado led the Rockies with two RBIs with a home run while Trevor Story went 2 for 5 with a solo home run. Tony Wolters added a double and an RBI while Charlie Blackmon added an RBI as well to round out Colorado’s scoring in the win. DJ LeMahieu and Gerardo Parra each had two hits while Ian Desmond added a triple. Carlos Gonzalez and Pat Valaika each had a base hit in the winning effort. German Marquez got the win to improve to 10-9 this season after allowing the one run on three hits while striking out seven over seven innings of work. Tyler Anderson will start game two and is 6-4 with a 3.94 ERA and 127 strikeouts this season. This will be Anderson’s second career start against Houston.

Erik Williams-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Astros will look to snap a five game losing skid after dropping the series opener on Tuesday. Josh Reddick logged Houston’s lone run on the board while Yuli Gurriel added a triple and Marwin Gonzalez added a double as the Astros mustered up just three hits as a team in the losing effort. Justin Verlander took the loss, falling to 11-8 this season after allowing two runs on six hits while striking out 11 over six innings of work. Gerrit Cole will start game two and is 10-5 with a 2.75 ERA and 207 strikeouts this season. In his career, Cole is 3-1 with a 2.56 ERA and 21 strikeouts against Colorado.

Colorado is 0-4 in Anderson’s last 4 starts and 20-41 in their last 61 interleague road games while the under is 6-0-1 in their last 7 games against the AL West. Houston is 17-7 in Cole’s last 24 starts and 0-9 in their last 9 home games while the under is 6-1 in their last 7 games overall. Colorado is 11-28 in the last 39 meetings between these two teams in Houston.

I got burned with the Astros on Tuesday, as Houston just couldn’t get on the board against Marquez, so the plus money with the hotter team in Colorado is definitely worth a look considering Cole has taken the loss in each of his last three starts. However, I clearly don’t learn my lesson as I just think Houston is too talented of a team to keep sliding like this. Anderson hasn’t gotten the win in his last six starts, with the Rockies losing five of them, so while it’s a risky move, I’ll side with Houston to bounce back with a statement win by a couple of runs on Wednesday.
