The San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers meet in the finale of their three game NL West division set from Dodger Stadium in MLB action on Wednesday.

The San Francisco Giants will look to complete the sweep after taking game two on Tuesday by a final score of 2-1. Alen Hanson went 2 for 4, accounting for both San Francisco RBIs in the win. Chase D’Arnaud added a double while Evan Longoria, Nick Hundley, Brandon Belt and starting pitcher Andrew Suarez each added a base hit in the win. Suarez threw 7.2 shutout innings, allowing just two hits while walking three and whiffing five, not factoring in the decision. Sam Dyson got the win to improve to 3-2 while Will Smith picked up his 10th save of the season. Derek Holland will start game three and is 6-8 with a 3.97 ERA and 125 strikeouts this season. In his career, Holland is 0-3 with a 6.38 ERA and 16 strikeouts against the Dodgers.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Francisco Giants - 8/15/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to salvage a win and avoid the sweep after their loss on Tuesday. Manny Machado made up L.A.’s lone RBI in the loss, while Justin Turner went 3 for 4 with all three hits ending up as doubles and Cody Bellinger added a base knock as well as the Dodgers put up just five hits as a team in the loss. Alex Wood allowed one run on three hits while striking out six over five innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Kenta Made took the loss, dropping to 7-8 this season in defeat. Hyun-Jin Ryu will start game three and is 3-0 with a 2.12 ERA and 36 strikeouts this season. In his career, Ryu is 4-6 with a 3.36 ERA and 49 strikeouts against San Francisco.

San Francisco is 4-0 in Holland’s last 4 division starts and 6-2 in their last 8 road games while the under is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games overall. Los Angeles is 4-12 in Ryu’s last 16 division starts and 0-5 in their last 5 games overall while the under is 12-3-1 in their last 16 division matchups. Los Angeles is 1-4 in Ryu’s last 5 starts against the Dodgers.

The Giants have been money making machines for us in the first two games of the set, so the plus money is worth a look. However, Holland has allowed 12 runs, nine earned, in 13.1 innings against the Dodgers this season and was touched up for five runs, four earned, in his last start. On the other hand, I’m not trying to lay heavy juice with a Dodgers team that has been outplayed in the first two games of the set and in all honesty, who knows what we are going to see from Ryu in his first start in over three months. Seems like a good spot to side with the over in my opinion.
