The Kansas City Royals could use a win here after losing six of their last eight games. The Royals have allowed 17 runs in their last three games and five or more runs in seven of their last 10 games. The Kansas City Royals have lost 12 straight games when allowing more than two runs. Offensively, Whit Merrifield leads the Royals with 140 hits and 40 RBI while Salvador Perez and Alex Gordon have combined for 179 hits and 90 RBI. Brad Keller gets the ball, and he is 5-5 with a 3.40 ERA and 62 strikeouts this season. Keller is 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA and 12 strikeouts in his career against the White Sox.

The Chicago White Sox look for another victory after splitting their last eight games. The White Sox have scored 21 runs in their last three games and five or more runs in five straight games. The Chicago White Sox have won seven of their last 11 games when scoring more than one run. Jose Abreu leads the White Sox with 124 hits and 76 RBI while Yolmer Sanchez and Tim Anderson have combined for 218 hits and 94 RBI. Dylan Covey gets the ball, and he is 4-9 with a 6.06 ERA and 59 strikeouts this season. Covey is 0-5 with a 6.34 ERA and 14 strikeouts in his career against the Royals.
The Royals are 17-38 in their last 55 road games, 0-4 in their last 4 during game 2 of a series and 1-5 in Kellers last 6 road starts. The White Sox are 20-41 in their last 61 during game 2 of a series, 0-5 in Coveys last 5 home starts and 0-4 in Coveys last 4 starts. The White Sox are 0-5 in Coveys last 5 starts vs. Royals and the over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in Chicago.
Covey has been downright awful this season, as he's allowing a .285 batting average and has given up four or more runs in nine of his last 10 starts. It's actually kind of funny that the White Sox are the favorite in this spot. With that said, the Royals have been one of the worst teams in all of baseball all year and it continues in the month of August. Even at plus money, I'm not trying to get behind Kansas City. I'll take the White Sox at home and the cheap price, even if Covey is dumpster juice. The White Sox offense has been hot enough to trust they can carry the way.
