For Saturday’s matchup, the Brewers are sending out lefty Wade Miley. In his 40.1 innings and 2-1 mark this year, Miley has a 2.23 ERA with 22 Ks and 19 BBs.
Christian Yelich leads the way for the Brew Crew in hitting this year, coming into this set on 131 hits, 82 runs, 18 homers and 60 RBI. In the opener, Yelich had two hits and a run.
As for the Cards, they’re going with Miles Mikolas on Saturday. Across 151.1 innings and a 12-3 record this year, Mikolas has a 2.85 ERA with 102 Ks and 26 BBs.
Leading the way for the Cardinals’ offense the season is Marcell Ozuna, who entered this series on 126 hits, 49 runs, 14 homers and 64 RBI. In the opener, Ozuna had a hit and two RBI.
The Brewers are 4-0 in their last four Saturday games and 39-15 in their last 54 in game two of a series. Milwaukee is 4-1 in Miley’s last five road starts and the under is 5-2 in the Brewers’ last seven Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals are 4-0 in their last four in game two of a series and 4-0 in the last four Saturday games. St. Louis is also 4-0 in Mikolas’ last four home starts and 4-0 in his last four starts overall.
Three of Miley’s last five starts have been the quality variety, and across all five he’s allowed seven earned runs in 29.0 innings. As for Mikolas, he had a string of three quality starts going but then coughed up four in 7.0 innings versus the Nats his last time up. This should be a great pitching matchup. I’m thinking Cardinals, but I like the under as well.
