The Cincinnati Reds and the Milwaukee Brewers meet in the rubber match of their three game NL Central division set from Miller Park in MLB action on Wednesday.

The Cincinnati Reds will look to win the series after evening the set up at one win apiece following their 9-7 win in game two on Tuesday. Scooter Gennett led the Reds by going 2 for 4 with a solo homer and three RBIs, while Mason Williams added a triple and an RBI and Phillip Ervin and starting pitcher Sal Romano each added an RBI as well in the winning effort. Brandon Dixon added a pair of doubles and Billy Hamilton went 2 for 5 at the plate. Dilson Herrera added a double while Eugenio Suarez and Tucker Barnhart each added a base hit as well to round out the offense for Cincy in the win. Romano gave up five runs on seven hits while striking out five over five innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Raisel Iglesias picked up the win to improve to 2-1 this season. Robert Stephenson will start game three and is 0-1 with a 7.94 ERA and 6 strikeouts this season. This will be Stephenson’s second career start against Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee Brewers will look to bounce back and win the series after dropping game two on Tuesday. Orlando Arcia went 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs, while Travis Shaw and Jonathan School each added a solo home run. Erik Kratz, Ryan Braun and Jesus Aguilar each added an RBI to round out Milwaukee’s scoring, with Braun and Aguilar each adding a double in the losing effort. Christian Yelich, Lorenzo Cain and Manny Pina each added a base hit as well to round out the Brew Crew’s offense in the defeat. Dan Jennings ended up with the loss, falling to 4-5 this season. Freddy Peralta will start game three and is 5-4 with a 4.48 ERA and 79 strikeouts this season. This will be Peralta’s second career start against Cincinnati.

Cincinnati is 0-4 in Stephenson’s last 4 starts and 2-5 in their last 7 road games while the over is 15-5-1 in their last 21 division matchups. Milwaukee is 3-11 in their last 14 division matchups and 4-11 in their last 15 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 home games. The over is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.

The Brewers need this game more, but Peralta has been shaky in his last couple of turns, giving up ten runs in nine innings of work, and only getting three runs of support in those starts. On the other hand, Stephenson (in only two starts) has allowed five runs over 5.2 innings of work and has more walks (9) than he does strikeouts (6) this season. All in all, I expect some offensive fireworks here so I’ll side with the over in this one.
