The Reds were held to just four hits and a pair of walks with Eugenio Suarez clubbing a solo homer while Phillip Ervin doubled in Mason Williams.

Cincinnati hands the ball to Luis Castillo for Saturday’s start at Chicago. Castillo defeated San Francisco 11-4 last time out with three runs scoring (one earned) in 6.2 innings.

The Chicago Cubs leaned heavily on their pitching to squeeze out an extra inning victory against visiting Cincinnati. Chicago starter Alec Mills gave up a run over 5.2 frames before Pedro Strop blew the save with a homer given up in the 9th. Jesse Chavez got the win for the Cubs with a scoreless 10th.

The Cubbies banged out seven hits and walked three times with Daniel Murphy and David Bote smacking solo homers while Javier Baez singled in Willson Contreras.
