The Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees will be finishing up their MLB series from Yankee Stadium on Wednesday.
In the Monday opener, the Sox managed a 6-2 victory. In game two Tuesday the Yankees’ bats were cold most of the night, but they pulled out a 5-4 win from three late homers to even the series.

For Wednesday’s game, the Sox will be bringing out Reynaldo Lopez. In his 148.2 innings and 4-9 record this year, Lopez has a 4.66 ERA with 110 Ks and 64 BBs.
Jose Abreu leads the White Sox in hitting this year, coming into Tuesday on 129 hits, 67 runs, 22 homers and 78 RBI. Abreu is still out injured but Nicky Delmonico provided two hits, two RBI and a run.
Over on the Yankees’ side, they’re going with CC Sabathia on Wednesday. Across 125.1 innings and a 7-4 record this year, Sabathia has a 3.30 ERA with 114 Ks and 43 BBs.
Leading the way for the Yankees offense this year is Giancarlo Stanton, who entered game two on 141 hits, 84 runs, 32 homers and 82 RBI. On Tuesday Stanton had a hit and a run, while Neil Walker provided the game-winning solo homer.
The Sox are 4-0 in their last four in game three of a series and 13-27 in their last 40 Wednesday games. Chicago is 3-8 in Lopez’s last 11 road starts and 1-4 in his last five Wednesday starts.
Meanwhile, the Yankees are 4-1 in the last five in game three of a series and 36-17 in their last 53 Wednesday games. New York is 5-1 in Sabathia’s last six starts and 4-1 in his last five Wednesday starts.
Lopez had a two-game stretch there where he gave up 10 earned over 7.0 innings on 13 hits, but he had a decent outing in Detroit his last time up. As for CC, he’s given up just two earned over his last two starts in 12.0 innings. I’m going to stick with the veteran Sabathia here and take the Yanks.
