For the Monday game, the Orioles will be sending out Joshua Rogers. In his 5.0 innings and 1-0 mark this year, Rogers has a 5.40 ERA with two Ks and one walk.
Adam Jones sits atop the Orioles’ offense this year, coming out of the week on 144 hits, 51 runs, 14 homers and 55 RBI. On Sunday Jones sat out.
As for the Mariners, they’re coming off a series versus the A’s. After winning two of the first three games, on Sunday Seattle fell 8-2.
On Monday the Mariners will be going with Erasmo Ramirez. In his 28.2 innings and 1-3 mark this year, Ramirez has a 6.28 ERA with 20 Ks and seven walks.
Jean Segura is the leading hitter for the Mariners, coming out of the week with 162 hits, 81 runs and 60 RBI. In the Sunday game Segura had a hit and a run.
The Orioles are 13-41 in their last 54 in game one of a series and 3-12 in their last 15 Monday games. The under is 23-8-1 in Baltimore’s last 32 in game one of a series and 41-19-2 in their last 62 Monday games.
Meanwhile, the Mariners are 7-1 in their last eight Monday games and 4-1 in Ramirez’s last five starts in game one of a series. Seattle is 5-2 in Ramirez’s last seven starts versus the AL East and 4-11 in his last 15 home starts.
Rogers’ lone start this year came out pretty well, as he allowed three earned on seven hits in 5.0 innings in a win. As for Ramirez, he had a nice run of three starts going but coughed up seven earned on 3.0 innings in his last appearance. Still, I think Ramirez will get it back here so I’m taking the Mariners for the win.
