The Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds take the field at PNC Park in Tuesday MLB.
The Cincinnati Reds never found the groove at the plate in a 5-1 loss at Pittsburgh on Monday. Cincinnati starter Matt Harvey gave up three runs on seven hits over six frames to absorb the loss with Sal Romano giving up two unearned runs in an inning.

The Reds mustered seven hits and a base on balls with Scooter Gennett clubbing a solo bomb in the 8th inning to avoid the shutout.
Cincinnati sends Cody Reed to the mound for his third start of 2018. Reed is 0-1 with a 1.29 WHP and 3.26 ERA covering 19.1 innings pitched.
The Pittsburgh Pirates are hoping to reach .500 and took a step towards that goal with Tuesday’s win. Pittsburgh starter Trevor Williams upped his record to 12-9 with five hits allowed over 8.1 shutout innings with Kyle Crick serving up a solo homer in the 8th.
The Pirates banged out nine hits with Adam Frazier and Gregory Polanco combining for six hits including homers, five RBI’s and three runs.
Joe Musgrove toes the rubber against visiting Cincinnati on Tuesday. Musgrove comes off of a 5-0 loss at St. Louis where he gave up all five runs on seven hits including two homers over six frames.
Cincinnati are 5-15 in their last 20 road games and are 3-8 in their last 11 overall and are 3-8 in their last 11 games on grass. Under is 8-0 in Pittsburgh last 8 home games and Pittsburgh are 3-11 in their last 14 Tuesday games and are 2-7 in their last 9 home games. Cincinnati are 2-7 in the last 9 meetings in Pittsburgh.
Musgrove hasn’t looked good the past two times out but he has thrown well overall so I’m thinking Pirates…
