The Chicago White Sox visit the Kansas City Royals in Monday MLB.

The Chicago White Sox never found their offense in a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the visiting LA Angels on Sunday. Chicago starter Reynaldo Lopez tossed six scoreless innings with Ian Hamilton giving up a lone run in the 7th to get the loss.

Dennis Wierzbicki-USA TODAY Sports

The White Sox offense consisted of five hits with Yoan Moncada accounting for a pair of singles.

The White Sox have named Lucas Giolito as Monday’s starter at Kansas City. Giolito comes off of an 8-3 loss to Detroit with five runs scoring through 1.1 frames.

The Kansas City Royals never found the groove at the plate in a 3-1 loss at Minnesota on Sunday. Kansas City starter Ian Kennedy allowed a run through six innings with Jason Hammel serving up a two run walk off homer in the 9th.

The Royals offense was limited to three hits and four bases on balls with Adalberto Mondesi accounting for the scoring with a 6th inning long ball.

The Royals send Jakob Junis to the mound to oppose the White Sox Sunday. Junis has won back to back contests following a 5-1 win at Cleveland with seven scoreless innings.

Under is 7-2 in White Sox last 9 Monday games and under is 11-2-3 in Giolito’s last 16 road starts and White Sox are 7-3 in Giolito’s last 10 starts. Kansas City  are 3-11 in their last 14 Monday games and are 26-58 in their last 84 overall and are 26-54 in their last 80 games on grass. White Sox  are 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Kansas City.

Although Junis worries me I don’t see a need to pay chalk between two struggling squads…
