The Miami Marlins and the New York Mets will be meeting up in MLB action to begin their series from Citi Field on Tuesday.

Originally, this matchup was scheduled to be game two, but Monday’s affair was postponed due to rain. That Monday game will be made up as part of a single-admission doubleheader on Wednesday.

New York Mets vs. Miami Marlins - 9/11/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

For Tuesday’s game, the Marlins will be sending out Jose Urena. In his 151.0 innings and 5-12 record this year, Urena has a 4.41 ERA with 117 Ks.

The Marlins’ top hitter this year is Starlin Castro, sitting on 155 hits, 72 runs, 11 homers and 51 RBI. In second is Brian Anderson, who has 144 hits, 77 runs, 10 homers and 58 RBI.

Over on the Mets’ side, they’re going with ace Jacob deGrom on Tuesday. Across his 188.0 innings and 8-8 mark this year, deGrom has a 1.68 ERA with 230 Ks.

Amed Rosario leads the way for the Mets offense, with 121 hits, 66 runs and 43 RBI. Michael Conforto is second on 109 hits, 66 runs, 23 homers and 63 RBI.

The Marlins are 7-16 in their last 23 versus the NL East and 25-58 in their last 83 road games. Miami is 10-25 in their last 35 overall and 1-4 in Urena’s last five road starts.

Meanwhile, the Mets are 6-2 in the last eight versus the NL East and 10-28 in their last 38 Tuesday games. New York is 6-2 in the last eight overall and 6-2 in the last eight home games versus a right-handed starter.

Urena has been pretty good over his last three starts, going 2-0 and allowing six runs over 22 innings. As for deGrom, he’s now been scratched from two straight starts (Sunday and Monday) due to the weather, so hopefully he’ll get to go here and enhance his Cy Young chances. With deGrom on the mound (if the weather allows it), I can’t pick against New York here.
