MLB action brings us to the AL Central where the Detroit Tigers visit the Cleveland Indians.

The Detroit Tigers will be looking to get back in the win column after a 5-4 defeat to Houston saddled the team with four straight losses. Detroit starter Daniel Norris was charged with all five runs on eight hits through 4.2 frames before three relievers put up zeros.

The Tigers did their damage on five hits and five free passes with James McCann going deep while Nicholas Castellanos cracked a two run bomb.

Matthew Boy has been named the Tigers starter at Cleveland Friday. Boyd did not get a decision in a 4-3 win versus the Cardinals where he allowed a run and struck out eleven over seven innings.

The Cleveland Indians have the AL Central well in hand but the team has not had a good week with losses in four of six following a 3-1 defeat against Blake Snell and Tampa Bay on Wednesday. Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco fell to 16-9 with all three runs plated through seven innings.

The Indians offense was a complete non factor with only one hit and three bases on balls to their credit with Jose Ramirez clubbing his 38th long ball in the 7th inning.

Right hander Josh Tomln toes the rubber against Detroit in the series opener on Friday. Tomlin has appeared in 28 games and is 1-5 with a 6.63 ERA.

Over is 9-3-1 in Detroit last 13 road games and Detroit are 9-23 in their last 32 Friday games and Detroit are 20-49 in their last 69 road games. Under is 8-2-2 in Cleveland last 12 home games and under is 5-2-2 in Cleveland last 9 on grass. Detroit are 6-23 in the last 29 meetings in Cleveland and are 15-42 in the last 57 meetings.

If I were to bet this one I would go with the more consistent pitcher in Boyd…
