The Cincinnati Reds could not get anything going offensively in a 1-0 defeat at the Cubs Saturday. Cincinnati starter Cody Reed tossed shutout baseball over five frames where he struck out ten before Sal Romano allowed a run in the 6th to absorb the loss.

The Reds offense was limited to four hits and a pair of free passes with Jose Peraza recording two base hits.
Luis Castillo toes the rubber at the rival Cubs on Sunday afternoon. Castillo comes off of a 3-1 win against the Dodgers with a run allowed over 6.1 frames where he struck out nine.
The Chicago Cubs didn’t do much at the plate Saturday and didn’t need to with their pitching controlling the Cincinnati offense. Chicago starter Jon Lester improved to 16-6 with seven scoreless innings while four relievers put up zeros.
The Cubs attack did their damage on four hits and a pair of walks with Willson Contreras going 2-3 with an RBI single that plated Javier Baez n the 6th inning.
Jose Quintana draws Sunday’s start against the visiting Reds Sunday. Quintana is gunning for consecutive wins after downing Milwaukee 3-0 with 6.2 shutout innings.
