The Texas Rangers will be out to snap a four game losing streak after being swept by the Tampa Bay Rays, including a 9-3 loss in the series finale on Wednesday. Adrian Beltre hit a solo homer with a double while Elvis Andrus and Willie Calhoun each added an Rbi to round out Texas’ scoring in the defeat. Nomar Mazara added a double while Carlos Tocci and Shin-Soo Choo each had a base hit in the losing effort. Yohander Mendez gave up eight runs, seven earned, on nine hits over 3.2 innings of work to take the loss, falling to 2-2 this season. Connor Sadzeck will start game one and is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 5 strikeouts this season. This will be Sadzeck’s first career start against Seattle.
Seattle is 8-21 in their last 29 games following a win and 1-5 in their last 6 road games against a team with a losing home record while the under is 9-4 in their last 13 games overall. Texas is 0-4 in their last 4 games overall and 0-4 in their last 4 home games while the over is 5-1 in Jurado’s last 6 starts overall. The over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams in Texas.
I’m not trying to back either of these teams as you have Seattle who just ran out of gas near the finish line, starting Ramirez who has a career ERA well over six in his career against Texas, going against a pitcher in Sadzeck who will probably be in for an inning and this will be a bullpen game for the Rangers, who haven't had a bullpen to write home about as of late. In case you didn’t catch my drift, this is a game where I think the over cashes in easily.
