In the Friday opener, we had an entertaining matchup as the Red Sox fought back from a mid-game deficit for a 7-5 victory.

For the Saturday game, Boston will be bringing out Rick Porcello. In his 184.1 innings and 17-7 record so far, Porcello has a 4.30 ERA with 187 Ks and 45 BBs.
The Red Sox’ leading hitter this year is JD Martinez, who came into this set on 181 hits, 106 runs, 41 homers and 124 RBI. On Friday, Martinez was 0-for-2.
As for the Indians, they’re going with Mike Clevinger on Saturday. Across 188.1 innings and a 12-8 record this year, Clevinger has a 3.06 ERA with 196 Ks and 62 BBs.
Cleveland’s top bat is Francisco Lindor, who came into this series with 175 hits, 123 runs, 36 homers and 87 RBI. In the opener, Lindor had a hit and a run.
The Red Sox are 23-7 in their last 30 Saturday games and 4-0 in Porcello’s last four starts. Boston is 6-1 in Porcello’s last seven Saturday starts and 7-2 in his last nine road starts.
Meanwhile, the Indians are 4-1 in their last five in game two of a series and 5-0 in Clevinger’s last five home starts. Cleveland is also 6-2 in Clevinger’s last eight starts and 8-3 in his last 11 Saturday starts.
Boston isn’t favored in this game, which is kind of weird to see, but it makes sense. The Sox have the division all wrapped up, and frankly Porcello just hasn’t been that great on the stat sheet lately. Furthermore, Clevinger cruises in here on six straight quality starts and has one loss in his last nine outings. It feels a little strange, but I’m going Cleveland in game two. Taking the Sox on a value pick is perfectly sensible as well however, so just go with your gut and don’t think too much about it.
