The Cincinnati Reds and the Miami Marlins meet in game three of their four game set from Marlins Park in MLB action on Saturday.

The Cincinnati Reds will look to bounce back after alternating wins and losses in each of their last seven games, including a 1-0 loss in 10 innings on Friday. Curt Casali and Phillip Ervin each had a double while Eugenio Suarez added a base hit of his own to round out Cincy’s offense as the Reds mustered up just three hits as a team in the loss. Luis Castillo threw 8.1 scoreless innings, allowing just five hits while striking out five, not factoring in the decision. David Hernandez took the loss to fall to 5-2 this season. Anthony DeSclafani will start game three and is 7-6 with a 4.92 ERA and 92 strikeouts this season. In his career, DeSclafani is 1-1 with a 4.09 ERA and 9 strikeouts against Miami.

The Miami Marlins will look to build on their extra innings win in game two on Friday. Isaac Galloway accounted for the game’s lone RBI, belting a pinch-hit RBI double in the 10th. Brian Anderson and Derek Dietrich each had a double as well while Starlin Castro, J.T. Realmuto, Rafael Ortega and Magneuris Sierra each had a base hit to cap off the Marlins’ offense in the victory. Wei-Yin Chen threw seven shutout innings, allowing just three hits and striking out eight, not factoring in the decision. Kyle Barraclough picked up the win to improve to 1-6 this season. Jose Urena will start game three and is 7-12 with a 4.21 ERA and 126 strikeouts this season. In his career, Urena is 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA and 9 strikeouts against Cincinnati.

Cincinnati is 7-3 in DeSclafani’s last 10 starts and 8-23 in their last 31 road games while the under is 9-0-1 in their last 10 games overall. Miami is 4-1 in Urena’s last 5 starts and 4-13 in their last 17 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 5-0-2 in their last 7 games against the NL Central. Cincinnati is 2-9 in the last 11 meetings between these two teams in Miami.

It’s hard to pick a game with two teams that have nothing to play for 9 times out of 10, but this may be that one outlier. DeSclafani has allowed four or more runs in five of his last six starts, totalling 25 runs, 23 earned over 30 innings of work for a 6.90 ERA. Urena has given up one run in four of his last five starts, each of which have been wins for the Marlins, so I’ll side with the Fish for the cheap price who have all the momentum after last night’s walk-off win.
