The Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Braves meet in the finale of their four game set from SunTrust Park in MLB action on Sunday.

The Philadelphia Phillies will look to avoid the sweep after dropping game three on Saturday by a final score of 5-3. Cesar Hernandez had a pair of RBIs and Rhys Hoskins put a run on the board to round out Philly’s scoring in the loss, while Odubel Herrera and Maikel Franco each had a base knock as none of Philadelphia’s four hits went for extra bases in the losing effort. Jake Arrieta took the loss, giving up all four runs on four hits in just two innings of work to fall to 10-10 this season. Aaron Nola will start game four and is 16-5 with a 2.44 ERA and 210 strikeouts this season. In his career, Nola is 6-2 with a 2.24 ERA and 46 strikeouts against Atlanta.

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Braves will look to build momentum after clinching their first division title since 2013 with their victory on Saturday. Freddie Freeman and Johan Camargo each had two RBIs while Kurt Suzuki added an RBI of his own to round out Atlanta’s scoring in the win. Ender Inciarte went 2 for 3 while Ronald Acuna Jr. added a base hit as well to cap off the Braves offense. Mike Foltynewicz carried a no-hitter into the seventh but ended up allowing two runs on two hits while striking out five over 7.1 innings to improve to 12-10 this season with the win. Anibal Sanchez will start the finale and is 6-6 with a 3.01 ERA and 127 strikeouts this season. In his career, Sanchez is 4-9 with a 4.91 ERA and 86 strikeouts against Philadelphia.

Philadelphia is 20-7 in Nola’s last 27 starts and 8-20 in their last 28 road games while the over is 6-0-1 in their last 7 Sunday games. Atlanta is 1-6 in Sanchez’s last 7 home starts and 9-4 in their last 13 games overall while the over is 3-1-1 in Sanchez’s last 5 starts against a team with a winning record. Philadelphia is 1-5 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams in Atlanta.

Sanchez hasn’t had much luck against the Phils in his career, and he also hasn’t been able to pick up a win in any of his last eight starts. Nola has maybe one more start after this to push for the NL Cy Young award, which I think is all the Phillies can play for at this point. Add in the possible hangover after the Braves punched their ticket to the playoffs on Saturday, and factor in Nola’s solid numbers against the Braves and I think the Phillies steal a win on Sunday.
