The Cleveland Indians and the Chicago White Sox meet in the finale of their three game set from Guaranteed Rate Field in MLB action on Wednesday.

The Cleveland Indians will look to bounce back after being walked off on Tuesday by a final score of 5-4. Yonder Alonso had two RBIs while Yan Gomes had a solo homer and Jose Ramirez added an RBI to round out Cleveland’s scoring in the loss. Michael Brantley and Josh Donaldson each had a double while Edwin Encarnacion and Melky Cabrera each added a base hit to round out the Tribe’s offense in the defeat. Trevor Bauer allowed two runs on five hits in four innings, not factoring in the decision, while Carlos Carrasco took the loss, falling to 16-10 this season. Shane Bieber will start game three and is 10-5 with a 4.80 ERA and 109 strikeouts this season. This will be Bieber’s second career start against the White Sox.

Quinn Harris-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago White Sox will look to build some steam after their wild walk-off rally on Tuesday. Daniel Palka had the game winning two run single, while Avisail Garcia had a two run home run and Yolmer Sanchez went 2 for 5 with an RBI to finish off the White Sox scoring in the win. Matt Davidson added a double, while Leury Garcia, Omar Narvaez and Adam Engel each added a base hit in the win. James Shields allowed all four runs on six hits while walking four and whiffing six over six innings of work, not factoring in the decision, while Ian Hamilton got the win to improve to 1-2 this season. Jace Fry will start game three and is 2-2 with a 4.32 ERA and 68 strikeouts this season.

Cleveland is 5-0 in Bieber’s last 5 road starts and 24-7 in their last 31 Wednesday games while the over is 3-1-2 in Bieber’s last 6 starts overall. Chicago is 2-8 in their last 10 home games and 3-7 in their last 10 division matchups while the under is 19-7-1 in their last 27 games against a team with a winning record. Cleveland is 36-16 in the last 52 meetings between these two teams.

Sometimes in a spot like this where everything is set in stone, like Cleveland making the playoffs and facing Houston, to Chicago missing out on the postseason once again, you just have to go with the better team, and as Tuesday proved, that doesn’t always work out. Bieber has allowed three or more runs in seven of his last eight appearances but I don’t feel comfortable backing the White Sox either. I'm going to go with the over as both teams can put runs on the board and I don't really trust either starting pitcher.
