The New York Yankees battle the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field in Wednesday MLB.
The New York Yankees were firing on all cylinders Tuesday in a 9-2 win at Tampa Bay. New York starter Luis Severino allowed both runs over five frames to get the win while three relievers tossed scoreless baseball.

The Yankees logged ten hits and six BB with Adeiny Hechavarria leaving the yard while Miguel Andujar smacked a two run bomb. The Yanks saw Gary Sanchez go 2-4 with a homer and four RBI’s followed by Neil Walker and Luke Voit with each driving in a run and scoring.
Masahiro Tanaka draws Wednesday’s start at Tampa Bay. Tanaka comes in off of an 11-6 defeat versus Boston where five runs scored through four frames.
The Tampa Bay Rays couldn’t get their arms and bats on the same page in Tuesday’s loss to the visiting NY Yankees. Tampa Bay starter Jake Faria gave up three runs in 2.1 frames while Andrew Kittredge and Jalen Beeks gave up a combined five runs.
The Rays offense consisted of five hits and three free passes with Brandon Lowe going 3-3 with both RBI’s that scored Joey Wendle and Tommy Pham.
Tampa Bay will go with a reliever by committee ‘rotation’ on Wednesday.
NY Yankees are 13-6 in their last 19 road games and over is 7-2 in Tanaka’s last 9 Wednesday starts and NY Yankees are 10-4 in Tanaka’s last 14 road starts. Over is 7-2 in Tampa Bay last 9 during game 3 of a series and Tampa Bay are 25-8 in their last 33 overall and Tampa Bay are 42-15 in their last 57 games on astroturf. Under is 9-2 in the last 11 meetings in Tampa Bay and under is 20-6-1 in the last 27 meetings.
It’s tough to figure out Tampa Bay when they pitch a bunch of relievers but I’ll give it a shot…
