The Colorado Rockies kick off their NLDS at the Milwaukee Brewers in Thursday MLB action.

The Colorado Rockies lost the NL West title to the Dodgers on Monday but came back to down the Chicago Cubs 2-1 in 13 innings Tuesday in the Wild Card game. Colorado starter Kyle Freeland tossed 6.2 shutout innings before Adam Ottavino allowed an 8th inning run to blow the save. The Rockies bullpen took over with four pitchers combining for 5.1 shutout frames with Scott Oberg getting the win.

The Colorado offense consisted of eleven hits and three bases on balls with Nolan Arenado and Tony Wolters driving in runs while Charlie Blackmon and Trevor Story scored. Story was the lone Rockies player to post multiple hits with three.

Colorado sends right hander Antonio Senzatela to the hill for the NLDS opener. Senzatela has made 23 appearances in 2018 (13 starts) and is 6-6 with a 4.38 ERA.

The Milwaukee Brewers closed the regular season with a flurry as the team won eight straight to tie Chicago atop the National League Central. Milwaukee captured the Central crown with a 3-1 victory versus the Cubs in a one game playoff on Monday. Brewers starter Jhoulys Chacin allowed a solo homer through 5.2 frames while four relievers put up zeros with Corey Knebel getting the win.

Milwaukee pounded out 12 hits with Christian Yelich going 3-4 with an RBI while Lorenzo Cain and Ryan Braun each singled in runs. Orlando Arcia had four hits and scored twice with Domingo Santana delivering a pinch hit double and scoring in the 8th for the Brewers.

Milwaukee has not named a starter and might make this a a bullpen by committee game in order to keep the rotation in sync for the remainder of the series.

Colorado  are 10-2 in their last 12 overall and are 10-2 in their last 12 games on grass and are 2-8 in their last 10 playoff games. Over is 7-1 in Milwaukee last 8 Thursday games and Milwaukee are 20-6 in their last 26 overall and are 20-6 in their last 26 games on grass. Colorado  are 2-7 in the last 9 meetings and under is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings.

The Brewers were on a tear to end the regular season and I think their bats get the job done...
