The Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers meet Friday in game two of the MLB NLDS at Dodger Stadium.

The Atlanta Braves would love to tie this series up at 1-1 before leaving for game three on Sunday. The Braves were shutout in their game one loss and have now scored a combined one run in their last three games. The Braves main success this season came due to an explosive offense, but there’s reason for concern considering they’ve been held to one or less runs in five of their last six games. The Atlanta Braves have lost eight of their last nine games when scoring less than five runs. Nick Markakis, Tyler Flowers and Freddie Freeman have combined for three hits and five strikeouts. Anibal Sanchez gets the ball, and he is 7-6 with a 2.83 ERA and 135 strikeouts this season. Sanchez is 1-2 with a 3.63 ERA and 32 strikeouts in his career against the Dodgers. Sanchez is 2-4 with a 2.79 ERA and 43 strikeouts in his postseason career.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have a chance to take complete control of this series with a 2-0 lead. The Dodgers have now scored five or more runs in seven of their last 10 games and have won 13 straight games when scoring more than three runs. If this is the offense that’s going to show up for the Los Angeles Dodgers more times than not, you’re talking about a club that can finally end the World Series drought. Joc Pederson leads the Dodgers with one hit and one RBI while Enrique Hernandez and Max Muncy have combined for two hits and four RBI. Clayton Kershaw gets the ball, and he is 9-5 with a 2.73 ERA and 155 strikeouts this season. Kershaw is 4-0 with a 1.43 ERA and 78 strikeouts in his career against the Braves. Kershaw is 7-7 with a 4.35 ERA and 139 strikeouts in his postseason career.

The Braves are 1-4 in their last 5 during game 2 of a series, 1-5 in their last 6 playoff road games and 2-7 in Sanchezs last 9 starts with 5 days of rest. The Dodgers are 36-16 in their last 52 Friday games, 40-11 in Kershaws last 51 home starts and 71-22 in Kershaws last 93 starts. The Braves are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Los Angeles, Dodgers are 10-1 in Kershaws last 11 starts vs. Braves and 7-0 in Kershaws last 7 home starts vs. Braves

Betting against the Los Angeles Dodgers in their current form probably isn't wise, especially with their ace in Kershaw on the mound. However, we're getting a nice price with the Braves if you're a fan of value and betting just numbers. While we know Kershaw is great, he did have a 3.89 ERA in the month of September and hasn't exactly been the Kershaw we're used to seeing this season. Sanchez has allowed just seven runs in his last 28 innings and has an ERA of 2.67 with an allowed batting average of .206 on the road. He doesn't get love from the national media, but Sanchez has been highly impressive this season. Again, the Dodgers should be favored, but in terms of betting this game and based on the value, the Braves and the monster plus money is worth strong consideration.
