The Atlanta Braves and the Los Angeles Dodgers meet in game two of the NLDS from Dodger Stadium in MLB action on Friday night.

The Atlanta Braves will look to rebound after being shutout in game one by a final score of 6-0. Freddie Freeman, Nick Markakis, Tyler Flowers, Ozzie Albies, Ender Inciarte and Charlie Culberson each had a base hit as none of Atlanta’s six hits went for extra bases in the loss. Mike Foltynewicz took the loss, falling to 0-1 after allowing four runs on three hits while striking out five over just two innings of work. Anibal Sanchez will start game two and was 7-6 with a 2.83 ERA and 135 strikeouts this season. In his career, Sanchez is 1-2 with a 3.63 ERA and 32 strikeouts against the Dodgers.

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to push for the sweep after their victory in game one on Thursday. The majority of the Dodgers’ damage on the board was done with the long ball, as Max Muncy belted a three run home run and Joc Pederson and Enrique Hernandez each added solo shots. David Freese added an Rbi of his own to round out L.A.’s scoring in the win, while Justin Turner added a double and starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu added a base hit to help his own cause. Ryu got the win on the mound as well, tossing seven shutout innings, allowing just four hits while striking out eight. Clayton Kershaw will start game two and was 9-5 with a 2.73 ERA and 155 strikeouts this season. In his career, Kershaw is 4-0 with a 1.43 ERA and 78 strikeouts against Atlanta.

Atlanta is 2-5 in Sanchez’s last 7 starts against a team with a winning record and 1-6 in their last 7 playoff games while the over is 15-3 in their last 18 NLDS games. Los Angeles is 40-11 in Kershaw’s last 51 home starts and 25-10 in their last 35 games overall while the over is 2-0-2 in their last 4 home games. Los Angeles is 10-1 in Kershaw’s last 11 starts against Atlanta and 7-0 in Kershaw’s last 7 home starts against the Braves.

The plus money is tempting, considering that Kershaw struggled in his last start of the season against the Giants and has been up and down in the playoffs. However, Kershaw has been on more often than not, and the Dodgers still won Kershaw’s last start and have won their ace’s last eight starts overall. Add in the fact that Kershaw has stifled the Braves to the tune of a career 1.43 ERA and I think you have to go with the Dodgers in game two and to negate the heavy juice, I’ll side with the Dodgers on the run line.
