The Atlanta Braves and the Los Angeles Dodgers will be matching up for Game 2 of their National League MLB Division Series from Dodger Stadium on Friday.
In Thursday’s Game 1 of this set, the Dodgers shut out Atlanta 6-0, despite losing the edge in hits on the night.

For the Friday game, the Braves will be sending out RHP Anibal Sanchez. Across his 136.2 innings and 7-6 mark this year, Sanchez had a 2.83 ERA with 135 Ks.
Tops in hitting for the Braves this season was Freddie Freeman, who put up 191 hits, 94 runs, 23 homers and 98 RBI. On Thursday, Freeman posted one hit.
Over on the Dodgers’ side, they’re rolling with LHP Clayton Kershaw on Friday. Over 161.1 innings and a 9-5 record this season, Kershaw put up a 2.73 ERA with 155 Ks.
The Dodgers’ lead hitter this season was Cody Bellinger, who logged 145 hits, 84 runs, 25 homers and 76 RBI. In Game 1, Bellinger came up empty.
The Braves are 1-4 in the last five in game two of a series and 4-1 in Sanchez’s last five starts versus a team with a winning record. Atlanta is 1-4 in Sanchez’s last five starts ing game two of a series and 2-7 in his last nine with five days’ rest.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers are 4-1 in their last five in game two of a series and 36-16 in their last 52 Friday games. LA is 19-7 in Kershaw’s last 26 Friday starts and 41-16 in his last 57 with five days’ rest.
Sanchez came out with a nice season this year, and he’s put himself back on the MLB map. Across his 38.2 innings in the playoffs, he’s 2-4 with a 2.79 ERA over his career.
As for Kershaw, the Dodgers have won each of his last four NLDS starts and has helped LA win his last eight outings.
Given his track record, I have to stick with Kershaw and the Dodgers in this one.
