The Cleveland Indians and the Houston Astros meet in game two of the ALDS from Minute Maid Park in MLB action on Saturday.

The Cleveland Indians will look to bounce back after dropping game one on Friday by a final score of 7-2 to fall into a 1-0 series hole. Jose Ramirez had an RBI while Francisco Lindor, Michael Brantley and Yan Gomes each had a base hit to cap off Cleveland’s offense in the losing effort while the rest of the Indians went 0 for 20 with 8 strikeouts. Corey Kluber took the loss after allowing four runs on six hits over just 4.2 innings of work. Houston Astros vs. Cleveland Indians - 10/6/18 MLB Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Erik Williams-USA TODAY Sports

The Houston Astros will look to build on their series opening win and push for a sweep after taking the opener on Friday. Alex Bregman and Josh Reddick each had two hits and two RBIs with Bregman belting a home run while Martin Maldonado, George Springer and Jose Altuve each had solo homers to round out Houston’s scoring in the win. Yuli Gurriel and Tyler White each had a double with White going 2 for 3 at the dish and Marwin Gonzalez added a base hit of his own to round out the Astros’ offense in the win. Justin Verlander got the win after allowing both runs on two hits and striking out seven over 5.1 innings of work. Gerrit Cole will start game two and was 15-5 with a 2.88 ERA and 276 strikeouts this season. In his career, Cole is 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA and 13 strikeouts against Cleveland.

Cleveland is 1-4 in Carrasco’s last 5 road starts against a team with a winning record and 2-6 in their last 8 playoff games while the over is 7-1 in Carrasco’s last 8 starts against the AL West. Houston is 24-8 in Cole’s last 32 starts and 21-6 in their last 27 games overall while the Over is 9-3 in Cole’s last 12 home starts. The over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.

Well going against Houston blew up in my face in game one, and while I’m tempted to try with plus money again, Carrasco has been too up and down for me to feel comfortable backing here. Cole has been one of the better under the radar pitchers in the majors this season, and it’s worth noting that the Astros have won Cole’s last six starts and seven of eight to finish the season. Since we are getting a reasonable price on a quick turnaround, I have to lay the juice with the Astros to take a 2-0 lead on Saturday.
