The Red Sox racked up 18 hits and eight BB with Brock Holt hitting for the cycle and driving in four and scoring three while Mookie Betts and Andrew Benintendi combining for four hits, five RBI’s and four runs followed by JD Martinez with a pair of runs driven in.
The Red Sox have named right hander Rick Porcello as Tuesday’s starter in game four of the ALDS. Porcello has made 33 starts in 2018 and s 17-7 with a 1.18 WHIP and 4.27 ERA.
The New York Yankees were brimming with confidence heading to game three of their ALDS but nothing went well with Luis Severino allowing six runs through three frames while Lance Lynn gave up three more. Stephen Tarpley and Austin Romine gave up five more runs with all six New York pitchers allowing at least a run.
The Yankees offense consisted of five hits and a base on balls with Didi Gregorius driving in Luke Voit with the only run while Giancarlo Stanton posted a pair of singles.
