The Astros racked up 13 hits and walked eight times with Carlos Correa clubbing a three run bomb while George Springer went 3-6 with a pair of solo jacks. Marwin Gonzalez gave Houston two hits, three RBI’s and a run with Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman combined for four hits, two RBI’s and four runs.
Justin Verlander makes his second postseason appearance in 2018. Verlander defeated Cleveland 7-2 in the ALDS with a pair of runs scoring on two hits and two BB over 5.1 frames.
The Boston Red Sox clinched the ALDS against the rival NY Yankees with a thrilling 4-3 victory where New York nearly overcame a 4-1 deficit. Boston starter Rick Porcello gave up a run through five frames to get the win before Craig Kimbrel gave up a pair of 9th inning runs to make things interesting.
The Red Sox offense did their damage on eight hits and four bases on balls with Christian Vasquez smashing a solo homer. Boston saw Ian Kinsler drive in a run and score while Eduardo Nunez had a pair of hits and knocked in a run.
