The Boston Red Sox and the Houston Astros meet in game three of the ALCS from Minute Maid Park in MLB action on Tuesday.

The Boston Red Sox will look to build some steam after bouncing back with a 7-5 victory in game two on Sunday. Jackie Bradley Jr. led the charge by going 1 for 4 with a three run double, while Mookie Betts went 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles and an RBI. Andrew Benintendi and Rafael Devers each chipped in a run as well, while Steve Pearce added a double and Xander Bogaerts and Mitch Moreland each added a base knock to round out Boston’s offense in the win. David Price allowed four runs over 4.2 innings of work, not factoring in the decision, while Matt Barnes got the win and Craig Kimberly closed out the 9th for the save. Nathan Eovaldi will start game three and is 1-0 with a 1.29 ERA and 5 strikeouts this postseason. In his career, Eovaldi is 1-1 with a 3.19 ERA and 28 strikeouts against Houston.

The Houston Astros will look to bounce back after being dropped in game two on Sunday. George Springer and Marwin Gonzalez each had two RBIs, with Gonzalez belting a home run while Springer went 2 for 5 with a pair of doubles. Jose Altuve added an RBI of his own to round out Houston’s scoring in the loss, while Martin Maldonado added a double. Yuli Gurriel and Carlos Correa each added a base hit to cap off Houston’s offense in the losing effort. Gerrit Cole took the loss, giving up five runs, four earned, on six hits while striking out five over six innings of work. Dallas Keuchel will start game three and is 0-0 with a 3.60 ERA and 2 strikeouts this postseason. In his career, Keuchel is 0-1 with a 9.15 ERA and 14 strikeouts against Boston.

Boston is 6-2 in their last 8 games against a left-handed starter and 9-3 in their last 12 games against the AL West while the over is 13-3-1 in their last 17 games overall. Houston is 1-6 in Keuchel’s last 7 home starts against a team with a winning record and 40-19 in their last 59 games overall while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 playoff games. The over is 35-16-1 in the last 52 meetings between these two teams and 6-1 in the last 7 meetings between these two teams in Houston.

This should be a great game three and while we all know Keuchel is a better pitcher than he’s shown for most of the season, the fact is that he’s gotten beaten around by the Red Sox in his career, to the tune of allowing 20 runs over 19.2 innings of work. Keuchel is also a worse pitcher at home than on the road as he has a 4-6 record with a 3.90 ERA at Minute Maid compared to 8-5 with a 3.59 ERA on the road. On the other hand, Eovaldi pitched well in his last time up, but I still don’t trust him as a whole. Instead, I’m going to side with the over. We saw on Sunday that both offenses can put runs up on the board against ace-type pitching, so I expect there to be plenty of scoring in this one.
