The Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles will meet up on the MLB circuit to continue their series on Friday.
In the Thursday opener of this set, the Rangers secured two runs on a homer in the seventh inning on the way to a 3-1 victory.
For Friday’s game, the Rangers are sending out Brock Burke in the start. Across his 18.0 innings and 0-1 record this year, Burke has a 1.50 ERA with 11 Ks and six walks.
Texas’ Nick Solak was the hero on Thursday, knocking a two-run homer. He also plated a pair of runs.
Over on the Orioles’ side, they’re sending out Dylan Bundy in the start. Bundy is 6-13 with a 4.96 ERA and 138 strikeouts.
Baltimore out-hit the Rangers 10-5 on Thursday, but couldn’t translate much to the scoreboard. Trey Mancini led the team on three hits with a run.
The Rangers are 2-7 in their last nine in game two of a series and the under is 7-2-1 in their last 10 in game two of a series. The under is 16-5-1 in Texas’ last 22 Friday games.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are 33-70 in their last 103 in game two of a series and 18-45 in their last 63 Friday games. The under is 4-1 in the last five Friday games as well.
Burke has a very small body of work so far this season, but the early returns have been promising. He’s given up just three earned runs over his 18.0 innings, and his lone defeat came as a tough-luck L.
So long as Burke can keep it going and the Rangers offense provides some cushion I like Texas here.
