The Cleveland Indians and the Minnesota Twins will continue their MLB series on Saturday.
In the Friday opener, the Indians tied things up 2-2 in the eighth inning, then went on to win with four runs in the 11th frame for a 6-2 victory.
For Saturday’s game, the Indians will send out Aaron Civale to start. Over his 41.2 innings and 3-3 mark so far, Civale has a 1.94 ERA with 34 Ks and nine walks.
Over on the Twins’ side, they’re going with Jake Odorizzi on Saturday. Over 142.0 innings and a 14-6 record this year, Odorizzi has a 3.61 ERA with 152 Ks and 49 BBs.
The Indians are 2-5 in their last seven in game two of a series and 4-0 in Civale’s last four starts versus the AL Central. The under is 11-5-1 in Cleveland’s last 17 Saturday games and 3-0-1 in his last four road starts.
Meanwhile, the Twins are 20-6 in their last 26 Saturday games and 4-0 in Odorizzi’s last four Saturday starts. Minnesota is 8-2 in Odorizzi’s last 10 starts versus the AL Central and 22-8 in his last 30 starts.
Civale has been really solid in his limited action this year, with five of his seven outings being quality starts. He’s also sitting on consecutive wins.
As for Odorizzi, he’s given up three or fewer earned in each of his last four but is just 1-1 in that span. I like Civale a little more right now so I’m leaning toward Cleveland in this installment of the “Twindians” series but this one should be tight and you could make a good argument either way.
