The Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles will finish off their MLB series on Sunday.
Texas took the first two games of this series, 3-1 Thursday and 7-6 Friday. In the Saturday game, the Rangers banged out another win 9-4.
For the Sunday matchup the Rangers will send out Mike Minor in the start. Across his 181.2 innings and 12-8 mark so far, Minor has a 3.12 ERA with 180 Ks and 58 BBs.
Over on the Orioles’ side, they’re going with Asher Wojciechowski on Sunday. Over 65.0 innings and a 2-7 record, Wojciechowski has a 5.12 ERA with 66 Ks and 24 walks.
The Rangers are 2-6 in their last eight Sunday games and 5-2 in Minor’s last seven starts. Texas is 5-2 in Minor’s last seven starts on grass and 5-1 in his last six versus the AL East.
Meanwhile, the Orioles are 2-6 in their last eight in game four of a series and 5-16 in their last 21 Sunday games. Baltimore is 0-4 in Wojciechowski’s last four starts and the over is 4-0-1 in their last five Sunday games.
Minor had a couple of sketchy starts against the Angels, with 10 earned in 12.1 innings. He came back out with a quality start against the Yankees though, zero earned in 7.1 innings.
As for Wojciechowski, he’s given up nine earned over his last two starts in 11.0 innings. He also hasn’t won since July 26. I think I have to stick on the Rangers here.
