The Minnesota Twins and the Kansas City Royals will meet up on the MLB circuit Saturday.
In the Friday opener of this set, The Twins posted two runs in each of the first three innings on the way to a 6-2 win.
For Saturday’s game, the Twins will send out Cody Stashak to start. Stashak is 0-1 with a 3.13 ERA and 23 Ks this year.
Over on the Royals’ side, they’re going with Glenn Sparkman on Saturday. Over his 131.0 innings and 4-11 mark so far, Sparkman has a 6.11 ERA with 77 Ks and 40 BBs.
The Twins are 4-0 in their last four in game two of a series and 22-6 in their last 28 Saturday games. The over is 5-2 in Minnesota’s last seven Saturday games as well.
Meanwhile, Kansas City is 6-15 in their last 21 Saturday games and 17-35 in their last 52 in game two of a series. The Royals are 1-4 in Sparkman’s last five Saturday starts and 0-5 in his last five home starts.
Sparkman has been pretty choppy lately. Over his last six starts, he’s given up a total of 26 earned runs and is 0-3 during that stretch. It’s been a long time since Sparkman has recorded a W, so I don’t think I can lean that way here under too many circumstances. I’ll go Twins.
