The New York Yankees and the Texas Rangers will match up on the MLB diamond Saturday.
In the Friday opener of this set, the Yankees won 14-7.
For Saturday’s game, the Yankees will send out Luis Severino to start. Over 9.0 innings and a 1-0 record this year, Severino has a clean 0.00 ERA with 13 Ks and two walks.
Over on the Rangers’ side, they’re sending out Luke Farrell in the start. Farrell is 1-0 with a 2.38 ERA and 12 Ks this year.
New York is 21-7 in their last 28 in game two of a series and 4-1 in Severino’s last five Saturday starts. The Yankees are 42-13 in Severino’s last 55 starts and 17-8 in his last 25 road starts.
Meanwhile, the Rangers are 4-9 in their last 13 Saturday games and 0-4 in the last four in game two of a series. The over is 6-1 in Texas’ last seven in game two of a series as well.
We’ve only gotten to see Severino twice this year, but both outings have been encouraging. He put up 4.0 innings with two hits and four Ks versus the Angels, then 5.0 with three hits, zero earned and nine Ks against Toronto.
I like Severino to keep it going here, so I’m leaning toward the Yanks on this one.
