The Line: Doosan Bears -130 / SK Wyverns +110 -- Over/Under: 8.5
The SK Wyverns and Doosan Bears meet Monday morning in South Korea KBO preseason baseball action.
The SK Wyverns are 2-1 in preseason action, but they’re coming off a 2-8 beatdown loss at the hands of the Kiwoom Heroes. The SK Wyverns have now lost four of their last six games overall when you consider their showings in the KBO playoffs back in October. In their recent showing, Jeong Jin-gi and Jamie Romak combined for two hits and two RBI while Ricardo Pinto pitched 4.1 innings while allowing three runs, walking five and striking out four. The SK Wyverns have lived and died off their offense their last several games and their pitching staff can really stink up the joint. The SK Wyverns are 6-11 in their last 17 games overall.
The Doosan Bears are 2-1 in their first three preseason games and have won 11 of their last 12 games overall. The Doosan Bears are coming off a 8-1 victory over the KT Wiz Suwon and are averaging five runs per game so far this preseason. In their recent outing, Park Kun-woo and Jung Soo-bin combined for two hits and four RBI while Raul Alcantara pitched five innings, allowing one run, three hits and striking out one. The Doosan Bears are clearly the team that’s in best form dating back to last season and they’re going to be tough to beat as long as the offense continue to hold up the way it has in their last two games.
The Doosan Bears have won five of the last six meetings against the SK Wyverns, which includes a 7-3 win back in late September. The last three meetings between the SK Wyverns and Doosan Bears are averaging 11 runs.
Not only are the Doosan Bears playing the better baseball and are the hottest team in the league dating back to last season, but they've won five of the last six meetings against the SK Wyverns. Just off of those two things alone, it's really hard not to side with the Doosan Bears and the cheap price. Ride the hot hand until it runs cold. It doesn't get any hotter than what the Doosan Bears are going through right now.
