The SK Wyverns and KT Wiz Suwon meet Wednesday morning in South Korea KBO preseason baseball action.
The SK Wyverns are 2-2 in preseason action and have lost five of their last seven games overall. The SK Wyverns have allowed a combined 15 runs in their last two games and are allowing an average of 5.25 runs per game this preseason. In their last effort against the Doosan Bears, Jamie Romak and Han Dong-min have combined for three hits and four RBI while Moon Seung-won allowed two runs and six hits in five innings of work. The SK Wyverns pitching staff gets hit hard or puts together a solid effort and there’s really little in-between. The SK Wyverns have to figure things out on the mound if they’re going to start stringing together some positive results.
The KT Wiz Suwon are 2-1-1 in preseason play and are coming off a draw against the Hanwha Eagles. The KT Wiz Suwon have relied on their offense so far this preseason and are averaging 4.5 runs per game. In their last time out, Kim Min-hyeok and Hwang Jae-gyun combined for four hits while Kim Min allowed two earned runs and four hits in 5.2 innings of work. The KT Wiz Suwon simply have to find their offense again, as they went from scoring 10 runs against the LG Twins to scoring a combined four runs in their last 19 innings. The KT Wiz Suwon are 7-3-1 in their last 10 games.
The KT Wiz Suwon have won five of the last six meetings against the SK Wyverns and all five of those wins were decided by two or more runs. Four of the last 10 meetings between the SK Wyverns and KT Wiz Suwon have produced double-digit runs.
You can argue that the KT Wiz Suwon have looked like the better team this preseason and they’ve won five of the last six meetings against the SK Wyverns. The SK Wyverns have a pitching staff that can get hit hard, and it feels like the KT Wiz Suwon are due for an offensive explosion after being held down their last two games. I have to side with the plus money in this contest.
