The KT Wiz Suwon and Hanwha Eagles meet Friday morning in South Korea KBO preseason baseball action.
The KT Wiz Suwon are coming off a shutout victory over the SK Wyverns and are 3-1-1 in preseason play. The KT Wiz Suwon have gone 17 straight innings without giving up a single run, so it’s safe to say they’re in terrific form at the moment. In their recent effort, Kim Min-hyeok and Park Kyung-soo combined for two hits and four RBI while Son Dong-hyun allowed zero runs and one hit while striking out one in two innings. As long as the KT Wiz Suwon pitching staff continues to show up, this is going to be a tough team to beat.
The Hanwha Eagles are still looking for their first victory this preseason, as they’re 0-3-2 in preseason action. The Hanwha Eagles are coming off a 4-3 loss at the hands of the LG Twins. In that contest, Lee Sung-yeol and Noh Si-hwan combined for one hit and three RBI while Im Joon-seop allowed two runs and four hits while striking out three in 2.2 innings. The Hanwha Eagles have scored a combined six runs in their last three games and are averaging 2.8 runs this preseason.
These teams have split the last 10 meetings, but the most recent match was a 3-3 draw a few days ago. Each of the last four meetings between the Hanwha Eagles and KT Wiz Suwon have produced single digit runs.
The Hanwha Eagles have head and shoulders been the worst team up to this point in the preseason, and they’ve failed to produce a victory in each of their last eight games. There’s simply no point to entertain the Hanwha Eagles until they show they’re capable of putting together a winning performance. The KT Wiz Suwon are 3-1-1 this preseason and haven’t allowed a single run in each of their last 17 innings. It feels like these teams are heading in complete opposite directions. The Hanwha Eagles are fade material until further notice.
I have to side with the KT Wiz Suwon and the reasonable price.
