The Line: Hanwha Eagles +150 / SK Wyverns -180 -- Over/Under: 9

The SK Wyverns and Hanwha Eagles meet Wednesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action.

The SK Wyverns are now riding a five-game losing streak and have produced a combined three runs in their last three games. In their regular season opener, SK Wyverns had just two hits and allowed their opposing starting pitcher to throw a complete game. In the loss, Ko Jong-wook and Jamie Romak had the Wyverns two hits while Nick Kingham allowed three runs and six hits in seven innings of work. The SK Wyverns have now lost eight of their last 10 games if you throw in the playoffs and the preseason, and getting shutout in the regular season opener doesn’t improve that confidence level.

The Hanwha Eagles entered the regular season not producing a win in their last nine games, so a shutout victory was a sight for sore eyes. The Hanwha Eagles have now failed to allow a single run in their last 11 innings. In the impressive win, Ha Ju-suk and Kim Tae-kyun combined for two hits and three RBI while Warwick Saupold allowed zero runs and two hits while striking out two in nine innings. Getting a complete game shutout does wonders for the teams confidence, but it also allowed the bullpen to rest and gives them a serious edge as they jump into game two of this series.

The SK Wyverns have won four of the last five meetings against the Hanwha Eagles and six of the last eight meetings overall. Eleven of the last 13 meetings against the Hanwha Eagles and SK Wyverns have produced single digit run totals.

The SK Wyverns have not only lost five straight games and have looked bad doing it, but a complete game shutout provides no positives moving forward. The Hanwha Eagles got the shot in the arm they needed and now have a rested bullpen if needed for this contest. The Hanwha Eagles are in good shape and have to like their chances to start the regular season with a 2-0 record. I'm going to back the Eagles in this contest.

Randy’s Pick Hanwha Eagles +150
