The KIA Tigers and Kiwoom Heroes meet Wednesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action.

The KIA Tigers got off to a rough start this regular season with an 11-2 loss, as they gave up eight runs in the first five innings and didn’t score themselves until the ninth inning. In the losing effort, Choi Jung-min and Hwang Yoon-ho combined for one hit and two RBI while Yang Hyun-jong allowed four runs and four hits in three innings of work. The KIA Tigers was a bright spot throughout the entire preseason, so maybe the regular season opener was just a fluke or a bad spot. Either way, it’s going to be interesting to see how the KIA Tigers respond after such a bad effort.

The Kiwoom Heroes are now riding a five-game winning streak when you throw in how they finished the preseason. The Kiwoom Heroes are avenging 8.6 runs of offense in their last three games, topping double-digit runs twice during that span. In their last game, Lee Jung-hoo and Park Byung-ho combined for four hits and four RBI while Jake Brigham allowed zero runs and two hits in 3.1 innings of work. The Kiwoom Heroes offense has done a lot of the heavy lifting during this winning stretch and if this is a sign of things to come, this isn’t a team you want to step in front of.

The Kiwoom Heroes are 5-1-1 in their last seven games against the KIA Tigers and have lost just twice in the last 11 meetings overall. Eight of the last 10 meetings against the Tigers and Heroes have produced double-digit run totals.

The KIA Tigers are better than what they showed in the first effort, but man that opening loss was so bad it's hard to overlook. The Kiwoom Heroes have caught fire on offense and seem to still be in the zone, and they're playing a team they've lost to just twice in the last 11 meetings. While I don't like to flip flop so quickly, it's hard not to side with the offense and back the Kiwoom Heroes in game two of this series.

Randy’s Pick Kiwoom Heroes -170
