The Line: NC Dinos -165 / Samsung Lions +135 -- Over/Under: 8
The Samsung Lions and NC Dinos meet Wednesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action.
The Samsung Lions have lost their last four games and have also failed to score a run in their last 10 innings. The Samsung Lions have lost eight of their last 12 games overall and it seems like the offense and pitching just can’t get on the same page. In their last outing, Tyler Saladino and Kim Sang-su combined for two hits while Baek Jung-hyun allowed four runs and six hits in six innings of work. The Samsung Lions need a pick me up performance to kind of get out of this funk, but being shutout and producing just three hits in their season opener doesn’t exactly boost the confidence of this club.
The NC Dinos were quite impressive in their regular season opener considering they went 1-5 in the preseason and did little on the offensive end. The NC Dinos now have a chance to win back to back games for the first time since late September. In their recent outing, Mo Chang-min and Park Suk-min combined for four hits and three RBI while Drew Rucinski allowed zero runs and three hits in six innings of work. The NC Dinos had one of the more dominating showings of opening day and it will be interesting to see if they can build on such a performance.
The NC Dinos have won five of the last six meetings against the Samsung Lions, which includes three straight victories. Six of the last eight meetings between the Lions and Dinos have produced single-digit runs.
While one game doesn't move the needle that much, it's hard not to be impressed with what the NC Dinos did in their season opener and how consistent the pitching was from start to finish. It also adds confidence knocking that the NC Dinos have won five of the last six games against the Samsung Lions. The Samsung Lions have lost four straight games and the offense has fallen off a cliff their last couple of games. While the NC Dinos could get back to their losing ways rather quickly, I'll back them to win game two of this series.
