The SK Wyverns snapped a five-game losing streak with a 5-2 victory Wednesday morning where they scored four runs in the first three innings and were in control the rest of the way. It was a nice bounce back performance for the SK Wyverns after being shutout in their season opener. In the victory, Han Dong-min and Jeong Eui-yoon combined for four hits and four RBI while Ricardo Pinto allowed one run and three hits in 6.2 innings of work. The SK Wyverns have a chance to win back to back games for the first time since the first two games of the preseason. Park Jong-hoon gets the ball tonight for the SK Wyverns.
The Hanwha Eagles just can’t sustain success and they’ve now failed to produce a victory in 10 of their last 11 games overall. If it’s not one thing, it’s another and the Hanwha Eagles have to figure something out in order to right the ship. In their latest loss, Lee Sung-yeol and Song Kwang-min combined for three hits and one RBI while Im Joon-seop allowed two runs and four hits in 1.2 innings of work. The Hanwha Eagles have become one of those teams you just blindly fade until they give you a reason to trust them. Jang Shi-hwan gets the ball tonight for the Hanwha Eagles.
The SK Wyverns have won five of the last six meetings against the Hanwha Eagles and seven of the last nine meetings overall. Twelve of the last 14 meetings against the Hanwha Eagles and SK Wyverns have produced single digit run totals.
Neither of these teams are teams I want to get behind given their struggles in the preseason and the inconsistent play through their first two regular season games. However, the Hanwha Eagles are a team I'm going to blindly fade until they get their act together. The Hanwha Eagles have won just one of their last 11 games and it seems to be the same song and dance every time they take the field.
Give me the SK Wyverns for the series victory.
