The NC Dinos and LG Twins meet Friday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action.
The NC Dinos are coming off a sweep of the Samsung Lions and their dominant pitching staff led the way. The NC Dinos are allowing an average of 1.6 runs per game through their first three regular season games and have allowed one or less runs in each of their last 13 innings. In their latest game, Park Min-woo and Lee Myung-gi combined for four hits and four RBI while Koo Chang-mo allowed zero runs and two hits in six innings of work. The NC Dinos have allowed four or less runs in each of their last five games. Lee Jae-hak gets the ball tonight for the NC Dinos.
The LG Twins lost two of three to the Doosan Bears and have allowed a combined 14 runs in their last two games. The LG Twins are allowing an average of 5.3 runs and 10.6 hits through three games this regular season. In their last contest, Kim Min-sung and Yoo Kang-nam combined for one hit and three RBI while Jung Chan-heon allowed five runs and seven hits in four innings of work. The LG Twins have lost eight of their last 13 games overall dating back to last years playoffs. Tyler Wilson gets the ball tonight for the LG Twins.
The NC Dinos have won five of the last eight meetings against the LG Twins and six of the last 10 meetings. Five of the last six meetings between the Dinos and Twins have produced single digit run totals.
The NC Dinos were obviously the more impressive team in their opening series and they've had the recent upper-hand over the LG Twins. However, the LG Twins are better than what they showed in their opening series and Tyler Wilson is a respectable pitcher with MLB experience with the Baltimore Orioles. With all this said, I'm taking the over on the run total. The LG Twins pitching staff overall hasn't been great and the NC Dinos have some hot bats in their lineup right now. I expect some fireworks in this matchup.
Give me the over.
