Fubon Guardians (8-10) Uni Lions (7-13)

May 10th - 5:00 AM EST

Fubon Guardians (-167) Uni Lions (+122)

The Fubon Guardians (8-10) and the Uni Lions (7-13) will meet on Sunday, May 10th for a 1st-Stage regular-season matchup in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). Uni is trending downwards, while Fubon is trending way up. How will this game fare?

In the second game of this series, Fubon was victorious in a 7-4 win over the Uni Lions. Fubon has now won back-to-back games and the first two games in this series. Fubon will look to throw down the final blow on Uni and earn the sweep on Sunday. The Guardians overall have been trending in the right direction this past week, playing a lot better than they were in the first parts of this season.

The same cannot be said about Uni, as the Lions have lost a season-worst six games in a row, as they look to avoid the dagger and sweep. Uni has just looked like they do not belong in recent games, which is odd, as in the previous weeks the Lions had looked like a real contender. In fact, it was not too long ago when the Lions were 7-7 and in second place in the CPBL standings. Now in dead-last and six games under .500, Uni needs to find a win and end this bad streak.

The Win Line in this game suggests that the Lions are bound to turn it around soon, as although they are obviously not the favorites in this game, they are only +122 underdogs. Fubon, the favorite, has a -167 price on the Win Line. I think Uni is a better team than what they have shown this past week. This line is also kind of fishy, as you would think a team spiraling downwards would not be only a modest dog. I think there is good value to take Uni on the Win Line in this game, as I think they can pull out a much-needed win to end their long losing streak and avoid the dangerous sweep from Fubon. Uni knows what is at stake, and I do not see them letting this game slip away.
