The Lotte Giants and Doosan Bears meet Tuesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action.
The Lotte Giants are coming off a shutout victory over the SK Wyverns and are now 5-0 in the regular season. The Lotte Giants have won nine straight games dating back to the preseason and have scored no less than four runs in all of those contests. In their last effort, Dixon Machado and Jung Hoon combined for two hits and three RBI while Dan Straily allowed zero runs and three hits in seven innings of work. The Lotte Giants are the hottest team in the league by far and shouldn’t be a team you’re looking to step in front of at the moment.
The Doosan Bears are 3-2 in the regular season and are coming off a shootout victory over the KT Wiz Suwon where they scored 13 runs. The Doosan Bears are averaging 6.4 runs of offense in the regular season and have strung together 40 hits in their last three games. In their last effort, Jose Miguel Fernandez and Kim Jae-hwan combined for five hits and eight RBI while Lee Yong-chan allowed six runs and six hits in six innings of work. The Doosan Bears can only hope to build on their momentum and the explosion of offense they’ve run into their last four games.
The Doosan Bears have won three straight against the Lotte Giants and five of the last seven meetings overall. Four of the last six meetings between the Giants and Bears have produced double-digit run totals.
The Doosan Bears have shown their past few games they have the horses offensively to hang around, and you have to like their recent success against the Giants. With that said, the Lotte Giants are a team we’ve rode hard dating back to the preseason and all they’ve done is cashed tickets. Until that hot hand runs cold, there’s no real reason to start betting against the Lotte Giants. The same way the Hanwha Eagles are automatic fades for me right now, the Lotte Giants are a team I’m blindly backing until they start running into losses.
