The Line: Samsung Lions +160 / Kiwoom Heroes -200 -- Over/Under: 8.5
The Kiwoom Heroes and Samsung Lions meet Tuesday morning in South Korea KBO baseball action.
The Kiwoom Heroes improve to 5-1 in the regular season after sweeping the Hanwha Eagles and have scored a combined 16 runs during their three-game winning streak. The Hanwha Eagles have scored no less than five runs in five of their first six games and have won nine of their last 10 games dating back to the preseason. In their last contest, Seo Keon-chang and Lim Byeong-wuk combined for two hits and four RBI while Jake Brigham allowed three runs and seven hits in four innings of work. The Kiwoom Heroes are going to be a tough out as long as this offense continues this red hot stretch.
The Samsung Lions are 2-4 in the regular season and are coming off a game against the KIA Tigers where they allowed 12 runs. The Samsung Lions offense has also scored three or less runs in four of their first six games. In their latest effort, Kim Dong-yeop and Lee Won-seok combined for two hits and two RBI while Baek Jung-hyun allowed eight runs and eight hits in four innings of work. The Samsung Lions pitching staff hasn’t done them many favors in some of their games, but this record isn’t going to improve until the offense wakes up from being ice cold.
The Kiwoom Heroes have won five of the last seven meetings against the Lions and seven of the last 11 meetings. Six of the last eight meetings between the Heroes and Lions produced single digit run totals.
The Kiwoom Heroes are one of the hotter teams in the league through two series', and they're tearing the cover off the ball right now. The opposite can be said for the Samsung Lions, who have scored three or less runs in four of their first six games. We also have the recent one-sided h2h totals that favor the Kiwoom Heroes with wins in seven of the last 11 meetings. While these teams seem to be heading in different directions, I'm going to side with the Kiwoom Heroes to draw first blood.
